As New GOP Threats Are Made Against Her District, 49th AD District Leader Regina-Potter Receives Right-to-Life Endorsement 2010 February 17 . It’s nice to see Republican women getting noticed in Brooklyn. It seems to happen so rarely. 49th AD District Leader Lucretia Regina-Potter, who is running for State Assembly in that same district, recently received an endorsement from the New York State Right to Life Committee, we recently learned. While many of us at Atlas are libertarians and generally don’t get involved with social issues (which are best left to the individual’s discretion), it is nice to see someone like Ms. Regina-Potter getting the attention that some candidates in the Brooklyn GOP truly deserve. Unfortunately, on the same day that we learned of this endorsement, a fresh threat from a familiar District Leader against the 49th AD leadership was stated to Atlas.Here is the text of the endorsement: January 22, 2010 – The New York State Right to Life Committee has endorsed Lucretia Regina-Potter,
Republican/Conservative candidate for the 49th State Assembly District. In a letter sent to Lucretia’s campaign, the Right to Life Committee informed her: We are very pleased to announce the New York State Right to Life Political Committee endorsement of your candidacy in the race for the 49th Assembly District in the fall 2010 elections. We sincerely appreciate your enthusiastic commitment to the pro-life cause! You have been a tireless advocate for unborn children, the dependent elderly, people with disabilities and all innocent and vulnerable members of the human family who are continually threatened by the current culture. On behalf the vulnerable and those of us seeking to protect them, we wish you a successful campaign and we hope to be working with you next year in the New York State Assembly. We wish you all the best in this race!

You may recall Ms. Regina Potter was attacked on this blog by unsuccessful City Council candidate Bob Capano’s campaign manager Russell Gallo (who is apparently a District Leader, as well). He also threatened “regime change” in the 49th Assembly District, since the 49th AD leadership challenged irrelevant Brooklyn GOP Chairman Craig “The Duke of Bay Ridge” Eaton by endorsing Arnaldo Ferraro for party chairman. In a recent email to Atlas, Gallo said: “As for the 49th, they will get what they deserve. It wouldn’t be fun if I told you what’s in store for them.” These are exactly the kinds of tactics that we here at Atlas abhor. These Tammany style attacks and secret subversions are what are killing good politics in our city. When I see a sitting District Leader make comments like that, it makes my head spin. And it would seem the party establishment has nothing more to add on the issue. They have failed to investigate or repair any of the damage that has been caused by this discord among the splinter cells that comprise the Brooklyn GOP. They continue to pretend that all is well, when in fact things are going terribly wrong. We will continue to monitor this story and give it the light of day. Otherwise, I personally wish Ms. Regina-Potter well in her endeavors! As per Atlaa Shrugs.
I wish she would go away! Let me barf, Atlas shrugs no more has their pulse on politics then Miss Piggy has a clue to be a Republican Leader. If the republicans want power in the 2010 election send miss piggy to pork chop hill. She is an embarassment to every republican in the state of New York. The Honorable Dominick Dicarlo would be rolling in his grave if he had seen what the Republicans in the 49th AD have become.
Assemblyman Dicarlo was a true gentle giant, unlike what we have today in the 49th AD.
